Anti-spam installed with easy mod but cant find link in cp

Postby microtekblue » Thu Dec 06, 2007 2:41 pm

Hello.

I installed Anti-Spam ACP 2.0.8 Anti-Spam_ACP.mod via easymod, but I can't see the listing in the control panel. There is no link or anything created after install...and it didn't seem to have any problems installing. But I can't seem to find the link that controls the mod in the admin control panel.

Please help.

The site is http://www.ontariohighwaytrafficact.com

Thank you.

I have looked over the template files and it appears that the mod has not been installed.

Does it list the mod as installed under Mod History?

Yes under mod history it shows to be installed.

Installed MOD Version Author phpBB version Themes Languages
Mon Dec 03, 2007 10:27 pm Anti-Spam ACP 2.0.8 EXreaction 2.0.22 subSilver; aluminoid english

Could it have to do something with Easymod itself? Maybe that wasn't installed properly or something?

Try having it load the backups, then reinstall.

Im not sure but I think this is a problem with easymod and how it was installed because there are a few other mods that it installs that dont work. Even the REGIP, which I think you also created, doesnt work for me.

I dont have the back files anymore....any other suggestions? Also, how would I uninstall this mod so I can install int manually?

Thanks.

You can have EasyMod load the backups. There is a place to do it in Mod History, as long as you are using the latest version.

Do you have it FTPing the files? Or how do you have it setup?

If it is FTPing the files, it could be putting them in the wrong place.

I dont know..this is frustrating.....I think my easymod is not working properly.

I had it set to manually download and copy...becuz whenever i tried to change the ftp settings i get errors like this:

Your EasyMOD settings have been updated successfully. (EM password not updated)

Testing FTP access...
1) Logged in successfully
Current Working Directory: /
Directory listing: (0 files being listed)

FTP ERROR: could not cd to /public_html
You successfully logged into the server, but could not change direcory (CD) to the easymod directory. The following is recommended:

1. Are you sure you entered the correct path? Below is a directory listing of the files in the FTP root directory. The FTP root directory is simply the starting point when you connect. The path to the phpBB2 installation should begin with one of the directory names listed below.
2. Directory names are case sensitive. Be sure the easymod directory is all lowercase.
3. In some *very rare* cases it's possible that you are not connecting to the proper FTP Server. Try specifying the hostname in the FTP Server field and the port in the FTP Port field.
4. Some servers have issues with the passive mode that EasyMOD attempts to use by default. If you have the PHP FTP extension loaded, then enable that option in step 1.

FTP root directory:
/

Directory listing: your FTP Path should start with one of the directories listed below
FTP Error: A file listing could not be obtained. This usually indicates solution 4 listed above.

Sounds like you are not setting the FTP settings correctly.

Since you are using the manual download and copy method I am guessing that you either uploaded the files to the wrong location or didn't upload them at all, because none of the changes can be seen.
