[Meta Tag Help] Where to place them to get 'seen'

I've been using HTML for a long time now, but PHP is a completely different animal. So I'm lost when it comes to the piddly small stuff and I'm just curious now, if I could have you lend me a hand.

I used that Meta Analyzer link, from the site here and it found me pretty bare bones, to say the least. A bit disheartening, however I began looking through my FTP files and wondering where exactly that Meta Tag Analyzer is reading from?

What file is all that information present in, on a BB3 forum so that I can edit it?

That website is a bit on the dated side probably.

Meta tags are in the head part of the HTML page, which is in overall_header.html under styles/*/templates/

Search engines weigh things more to page content than anything, I would recommend you read a number of sites to find the most accurate information on how to properly use meta-tags (a lot of people say things based on how meta tags used to be used, but search engines have changed drastically, so get information from a number of good sources)

Well, I know a lot about Meta tags in general from years of coding with HTML sites, however when it comes to PhP forums, I've always been lost as to where exactly things are located, because each piece of the visual-construct lies on a damned-different page, in a different file, in some buried folder. Lol.

Always makes it more difficult.

The templates are put where they are to keep the directory structure organized with multiple styles installed.
