[User Blog] bbcode reparser

Postby alicia » Mon Apr 30, 2012 12:40 pm

I've been trying to figure out a way to get the Support Toolkit to reparse bbcode in the User blog. I had to transfer my databases and now the blogs aren't parsing.
Ideas?

It looks to me like the problem is not from blogs not parsing the bbcode, but that the custom bbcodes you used on the other board are not setup on that board.

After that they should work. Since it does not look like there are a whole lot of blog entries, I would manually edit and resubmit the blog entries, the tool in the support toolkit would need major changes to work for this mod, probably more work than just doing it by hand.

The custom codes are working.. I have to manually edit each blog post to get the custom codes to parse.
It would just be nice to have in the event there are ever a large amount of posts and something similar happens.
Maybe something along the lines of a reparser can be written to work along side it, not necessarily a modification of what's on there but an addition.

I agree that it would be a nice tool to have, but I can think of a dozen other nice tools as well for other mods I've released. If there comes a time where someone needs something like that bad enough, they can either build it themselves if they are capable or contact me. Because of school and other things I don't have the time to build all of the tools and other things I think would be useful unless there is a significant demand.
