Auto Database backup

Postby Eferhilda » Wed Jul 07, 2010 12:36 pm

I am just wondering how do I use it to restore my forum? I found the file that was created just fine and now just need to restore my forum with it.

You should go into phpMyAdmin and backup the current database first.

Then select all of the tables that would be in the other backup and drop them.

Then use import to import the one you want.

Say I wait a week before downloading any of these backups and importing them into my local WAMP copy of my site, would I have to import the backup for each day one at a time to get the data from each day, or if I just imported the latest one would it give me all the new data since the last import?

Each backup is a complete database backup from the time it is taken

Spent a couple of days fiddling with another auto backup mod, could not make it work. Ran with Exreactions mod and was literally done in 90 seconds plus within 3 minutes had my first auto back up. Well done!
