Anti-Spam ACP: Email problems

I hope someone can help me out!

I have installed Anti-Spam ACP, fixed the CAPTCHA as described in the read-me file and all seemed to be fine. Not so! Prior to installing the MOD I had no issues at all with email confirmations being sent out to new registrants. They happened immediately. I did not have SMTP set up as I never needed it.

After installing the MOD, no confirmation emails are being sent out. I read through this forum and set up the SMTP as a possible fix. Still no confirmation emails being out and when I click on Test Email & Submit in the ACP I get the following error message;

Ran into problems sending Mail. Response: 552 REQUESTED MAIL ACTION ABORTED: HEADERS EXCEED 32K BYTES OR RECORD TOO LONG

I updated my board from 2.0.15 to 2.0.22 prior to installing the MOD and have installed the MOD using easyMOD and the latest release of the MOD. I have no other MODs installed on the board.

Has anyone else had this problem or can anyone suggest how I can sort it out. Please bear in mind I am a newbie and rely totally on easyMOD to alter my board.

When I set up a test account the following error message is displayed when I have entered the required info and hit Submit;

Ran into problems sending Mail. Response: 554 TRANSACTION FAILED

If I remove the SMTP settings and rely on the local email function I do not get any of the above error messages.

The Test email is sent fine from the ACP but the Registration Confirmation emails are still definitely NOT being sent.

Any ideas?

If the test email is being sent there is no reason the user registration email shouldn't be, it uses the exact same functions.
