[Split] Advertisement Management Support

Worked great installed first time. Only issue I had was one i loaded the adsense code and checked the board there was nothing there. Worried i had probably done something wrong I was about to ditch my efforts. However, make sure if you are using firefox to turn off the adblock plus. When i did the ads were there. Thanks again.

Also, if adsense doesn't work at first with fresh code don't worry about it. Google seems to have changed some stuff around where it takes a few minutes for the adsense to start showing up.

Let me know if you have any ideas for addons/improvements as well (and if there are any bugs). :)

Ok, I've updated it to 1.0.1. I kept it a really simple update, just 1 code change per style (and upload the new files).

I've added the option to count clicks (you have to add {CLICK_COUNT} into a place that accepts the onclick attribute (the a tag accepts it). It won't work on things like adsense, but if you have just an image you want to advertise and a link around it, that would work.

I've also added the option to have it more accurately count the number of views. The normal mode doesn't count forum ads very accurately, but there are not too many ways around it. So if counting the number of advertisement views in the forum is important to you, enable "Accurate View Counts" in the ACP->Advertisement Management (it does slightly increase the load on the server however, but should be fine for most boards).

Ok,
I have tried to install this mod, but I have an error when I try to load the forum:

Code: Select all

Table 'xxxxxxx_infrm.AD_TABLE' doesn't exist [1146]

SQL

SELECT a.code, a.ad_id, a.position, a.type, a.image, a.url, a.height, a.width FROM AD_TABLE a, phpbb_user_group g WHERE (a.max_views >= a.views OR a.max_views = '0') AND (FIND_IN_SET(0, a.show_forums) > 0 OR a.show_all_forums = '1') AND g.user_id = 2 AND FIND_IN_SET(g.group_id, a.groups) AND FIND_IN_SET(1, a.ranks) AND a.start_time < 1207820604 AND a.end_time > 1207820604 AND (a.clicks <= a.max_clicks OR a.max_clicks = '0') ORDER BY rand()

BACKTRACE

CALL: dbal->sql_error()

FILE: includes/functions.php
LINE: 3322
CALL: dbal_mysqli->sql_query()

Looks like there is a problem with the MySQL. Can anyone help me with this ?

You didn't fully install the mod. That error is from missing the edits to the includes/constants.php file. You should verify that all of the other edits are in place as well.
